Biograd - a top destination
Because of our desire to provide even more professional and convenient services, in 2016 we opened a new base of operations in the city of Biograd. There we now have our main office, and an alternative departure point for our charter boats. Our office and rental boats are located in the Kornati Marina at the northern entrance (in Croatian: Sjeverni ulaz) next to the large Konzum supermarket and the “IN” hotel. Kornati Marina has its own parking lot, so there is no need to worry about your vehicle. Please contact us to confirm the applicable parking fees for your stay. At the Kornati Marina you can also purchase discounted entry tickets for Kornati National Park.
Biograd is located near the city of Zadar, which is approximately 30 minutes away by car or boat. Zadar airport is also about a 30 minute drive from Biograd.
Zadar is famous for its old town, old city walls, St. Donat’s church, and the Cathedral of Saint Stošija. According to the website “European Best Destinations”, Zadar was awarded the title of Best European Destination for 2016!
BIOGRAD
Biograd is a fantastic base and a place where your adventures start, because it is located at an amazing geographical position, right in the center of Dalmatia between Zadar and Split. In Croatian history it was a royal city first time mentioned in X. century as a place where Croatian-Hungarian king Coloman was crowned.
The city is located on a peninsula and surrounded by several modern marinas, as well as a long promenade that provides a phenomenal view of the Pašman canal and the surrounding islands.
Biograd is also surrounded by Kornati National Park and Krka National Park, and by a wildlife reserve Vrana Lake.
CLIMATE
Biograd belongs to the Mediterranean type of climate, which is characterized by mild and relatively short but rainy winters and dry hot summer. The average annual temperature is around 15 C. The warmest months are mostly July and June. The average air temperature in January is 7 C and in July 24.5 C. Mistral is the most common wind that blows in summer.
Biograd has a good air and road connection. If you are arriving by plane to Zadar Airport, you need another 25 minute drive by car to get to our charter base and you can come from two directions, via the Adriatic Highway or the highway from Zagreb or Split. When you get off at the exit for Biograd, you have a 10 minute drive from toll booths to the city. If you are arriving by plane to Split , you have to drive another 1.15 h to reach the town. We can organize you a car transfer to our charter base. Our boats are located in the center of Biograd.
WHY BIOGRAD ??
There are many reason, so we will list just some of them. Biograd is a town located in the middle of the Adriatic coast between Zadar and Split.
The city is located at the seashore and is 30 km south-east from Zadar. It is well connected and climate is as throughout the region, typically Mediterranean with mild winters and hot summers with temperatures of at least 30 C.
Biograd is a dynamic tourist destination that our guest have recognized as a base for a great holiday. It is equally close to the tourist destinations located in the south (Island of Hvar, Brač, Vis, Šolta, Korčula, Split and Trogir) as well as those located in the north (Island of Pašman, Ugljan, Long Island, Mali Lošinj, Pag, Rab and Zadar).
In the region there are two National Parks and a wildlife reserve, as well as a lot of beautiful islands and bays with beaches that you can visit with our charter motor boats.
Because of such a large number of islands and bays, in case of a strong and unexpected wind you can always take shelter with a boat in a safe bay and enjoy your time without even feeling the wind, so the bad weather can’t spoil your day.
Passing with your boat through the Šibenik channel and Prokljansko Lake and through river Krka, you will end up in the place called Skradin, where you can leave your boat on a safe mooring place and board a large tourist boat that in just 10 minutes gets you to Krka National Park.
The region is extremely well covered by gas stations and the nearest one is located in the city center. To the north there is a gas station Zadar. On the south there is a gas station on Murter Island, and the other is in place called Jezera. A map with gas stations can be found on our website.
